A rumor has come to light that it was the responsibility of Nancy Pelosi (at the time Speaker of the House) to call in the National Guard to prevent rioters and protesters from storming the Capitol at Donald Trumps orders on Jan 6, 2021. There were numerous injuries to many people, numerous police officers, including the loss of life for five people and two of which were Police Officers.

This is WRONG. The US Capitol is in the District of Columbia which is not a city or a state. In a state, the governor is the Commander and Chief of its National Guard. In the District of Columbia, the President of the United States is Commander of the National Guard. He can turn over command to the General of the Army. But not the Speaker of the House.

So, one call from POTUS could have prevented the entire tragedy.....and it never came.
