FACTS

​

• A FACT is a statement of absolute truth backed by credible sources of information and/or data.

• Keep in mind that many FACTS will be adamantly denied by politicians and media pundits because they hurt their candidates’ chances to win the election. None the less, it does not matter what these seemingly informed people say about our facts, because, by definition, FACTS are undeniable verified truths that cannot be changed by spin or public opinion. 

• FACTS can also be generally understood beliefs that 90% of logical informed people (both Republicans and Democrats) would agree with, and do not need to be verified because the statement is so obviously true and does not warrant additional research.

FICTION

​

• FICTION is a statement of extreme exaggeration, lie, or deceit that has been proven not to be true as verified by credible sources of information and/or data.

• FICTION doesn’t add much value to our journal, so don’t waste too much time pointing out the crazy talk being flung around in the media that most people know is not true.

• That being said, if you feel strongly that large groups of people in our country are believing information that is clearly FICTION, then it’s important to point that out in our journal so none of us fall victim to false information being pedaled by the media on both sides, or the two campaigns.

 

OPINION

• OPINION is a statement you personally believe on any key issue, that may or may not be accurate because it has yet to be vetted or proven as factual information. Our OPINIONS should be supported by some type of logical and well thought out argument, or some partially verifiable information/data from a credible source.

• OPINIONS will be rejected from this journal if they are simply mindless repeats of campaign rhetoric or ill willed media spin design to make other guy look bad.

• In short, our OPINIONS are a very important part of the voting process, but they should come from the heart. They should be something we genuinely believe to be true, based on our life experience or serious thought we’ve put into a specific topic. Our OPINIONS properly stated should give someone on the other side of the issue pause to consider our point of view when making their informed decision on the issue.

YOU MUST IDENTIFY EACH OF YOUR JOURNAL ENTRIES AS…..FACT, FICTION, or OPINION.

Please do not post thoughtless, politically motivated, baseless claims in this journal.  We have plenty of that information floating around cable news and social media.

CONCLUSION

 

We live in the best county in the world, and it’s the best country because it was built by “The People”. We are the people.  Citizens in our country have been granted an amazing power to vote honestly and thoughtfully.  Our votes should not be controlled by political media types on either side of the isle, or by government officials trying to protect their power at all costs! That’s why this journal was created, to honor the tradition granted by The Founders of our country who gave us this amazing opportunity to VOTE!
